THE HISTORY
A member of a family with a long tradition in confectionery, the founder of the company, Mr. Stelios Giannikas, follows the developments in the industry and at a very young age he sets out on his own path. He is only 23 years old when he lays the foundations of the company, with the ambition to bring to Greece the products that had conquered Europe, and with the aim to contribute to the boost of creativity in the domestic market.
The vision, combined with hard work and dedication to offering high quality services to Greek professionals, quickly led to a great collaboration: 1985 is the year that the long-lasting and extremely successful exclusive collaboration of Stelios Giannikas SA with Callebaut - the undisputed world leader in the field of chocolate - begins. With continuous seminars and intensive demonstrations throughout the country, with an extensive sales network and the dynamics of a relatively new but extremely dynamic company, the top Belgian chocolate is winning the Greek public, who are familiar with and fascinated by the incredible taste and quality of this emblematic chocolate.
At the same time, the German company Martin Braun, a giant in the field of ready mixes, trusts the company to enter the Greek market. Dozens of companies from all over the world follow.
THE FUTURE IS HERE
The way is now open for further growth, which is driving developments. In 2003, the company's state-of-the-art distribution centre is inaugurated with huge warehouses, offices, an R&D department for the development of Greek products and a model production unit. In 5,500 square meters in Oinofita, Boeotia, the conditions are created for expansion not only in terms of the variety and number of products but also the production of chocolate products (chocolate shells, chocolates, decorations) and then ready-made mixtures, utilizing the company's know-how, excellent infrastructure and potential.
In 2006 the company was certified with ISO 22000 and the following year it changed its legal form in order to be able to respond to its dynamics as a public limited company. Stelios Giannikas SA continues to enrich its portfolio with major companies, which now exceed 50, including Les Vergers Boiron, Nappi, Lubeca, Premium Gastronomie, Nappi, Parmalat, Molino Dallagiovanna.
